health insurance reimbursement
I’m registered at professional association: LVNT (Landelijke Vereniging Natuurgeneeskundig Therapeuten). As a client you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your complimentary insurance (NL ‘aanvullende verzekering’). Ayurvedic care is not deducted from your ‘eigen risico’.
how it works:
Check if your insurance company covers Ayurvedic healthcare (prestatiecode: 54-24014) through the website of your insurance or zorgwijzer.
For each consultation or treatment you’ll pay by bank directly at the studio. After payment the invoice will be send to you through e-mail. You can use this invoice to request reimbursement from your health insurance.
tip: insurance companies yearly adjust their policy about what and how much they cover in their complimentary packages. It is wise to check if your insurance package still fits your needs at the end of each year and adjust your insurance accordingly.
complaints
Every healthcare provider in the Netherlands is subject to the Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz). Through LVNT I'm affiliated with RBCZ (quality register for competent practitioners in complementary care) and SCAG (complementary health care dispute committee). Should you have a complaint regarding the care you receive from me, I would kindly like to ask you to discuss your concerns with me. If this is not sufficient, you can contact the LVNT complaints officer.
privacy
To ensure proper treatment, I, as your treating therapist, must maintain a patient file. This is a legal requirement under the WGBO (Dutch Healthcare Professions Act). Your file contains notes about your health and information about the examinations and treatments performed.
The file may also contain information that is necessary for your treatment and that I have requested, only after your explicit consent, from another healthcare provider (for example, your general practitioner).
To protect your privacy, I’m using practice software for complementary and integrated care (MijnDiad) since October 2025. This software is ISO27001 and NEN7510 certified. I handle your personal and medical data with care and ensure that unauthorized persons do not have access to it. As your treating therapist, I am the only person who has access to the data in your file.
I am legally bound by confidentiality (professional secrecy). The data in your file may only be used for the following purposes:
· to inform other healthcare providers, for example, when therapy has been completed or when referring to another practitioner. This is only done with your explicit consent.
· for use during peer review (the data used is anonymized).
· a small portion of the data (name, address, city of residence, date of birth, date of treatment) is used for financial administration, so that an invoice can be issued.
The data in the client file is retained for 20 years, as required by the Treatment Agreement Act.
